Chesebro Canyon has a lot of trails and is a very popular to run and mountain bike. Michael Ballas put a loop run together for us.

We will drive to upper parking lot and start at the Modelo Trail which is just to the left of the bathrooms and the little state park trailer. If gate is not open then park right outside the gate. We can meet at the picnic bench under the oaks when finished. From up the Modelo Tr. we go left onto Palo Comado Cyn Tr. to Sheep Corral Tr. right to Shepards Flat where we go right onto Chesebro Cyn Tr. and follow it all the way back.

Happy Canyon Park is located in the Eastern Ventura County in Moorpark City. The park offers open grasslands and deep forests abundant with wildflowers in the spring and wildlife year round. It was home to the Chumash and later part of a cattle ranch which you still see remnants of in the form of watering troughts, tanks and fences.

One of the best runs in the San Gabriels. Passes through chaparral-coated slopes with expansive canyon views, lush conifer forest and streamside woodland, sampling the grandeur of the Big Santa Anita watershed. We will climb from Chantry Flats up Winter Creek with 360' views to Mt. Wilson, then take the Rim trail and the Gabrielino trail and down Sturtevant Trail to finish our loop back at Chantry.

Mt. Baldy via Ski Hut Trail

Ojai: Nordhoff peak loop

This loop starts at the bottom of the Gridley Trail, located at the dead end of Gridley Road off the 150 in Ojai. It's all single track trail, challenging climbs but once on top of Nordhoff Peak there are amazing views of the Los Padres Wilderness, the Ojai Valley and with clear skies the Channel Islands.

Reseda/Trippet Ranch

Starting at the end of "Reseda Blvd." -off Freeway 101- it's a very accessible and popular trailhead.

For once we are starting at the other side of Topanga SP. This way you'll get a mix of great trails without running anything twice. It's a figure eight with an extra little loop at the start/beginning.

Strawberry Peak Circuit

After the 2009 Station Fire, these trails were closed for more than 4 yrs and reopened end of May 2014 and are now in perfect condition.
This loop circumnavigates Strawberry Peak. We will start at Clear Creek where it's easy to find parking and this way we can fill our bottles and packs at the water faucet at the Haramokngna American Indian Cultural Center at Red Box at mile 10.5.
We will be running on the Josephine Fire Rd, Strawberry Spur Trail, Colby Canyon Trail, Strawberry Peak Trail, Gabrielino Trail and finish of on the Nature's Canteen Trail.

Busch Drive/ Zuma Canyon

We start this run at the "Zuma Ridge Trailhead", at the end of Bush Drive along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, Point Dume.

The course is for 100% a loop and is 11 miles total. Some rolling miles in the beginning, then long ups and once at the crossing Zuma Edison rd with Zuma Ridge trail it's all downhill from there! This is not an overly used area with some great single track and lots of runable dirt roads. It can be hot and there is NO water on the course.

Lots of canyon views and even more amazing ocean views.

Juan Bautista de Anza Park/Liberty Canyon

We park at the Juan Bautista de Anza Park at Liberty Canyon that is connecting the Malibu State Park.  Anza Park has clean gendered bathrooms, water, picnic tables and ample parking.  

Westridge/Sullivan Ridge/2 Goat trails

Our run begins with our familiar Westridge.and gradually rises to the Nike Station, for views, taking pictures, bathroom stops or even water.  Then turning left on Dirt Mulholland, and after 3/4 mile, we run left on well marked "Sullivan Ridge".  Then we run parallel to Westridge for the length on fire road with even surface for faster training.  Just after Camp Josepho's sign, watch for 3 telephone poles on the left on the Fire Road.  Then, go down the goat trail and cross Sullivan Canyon Trail and go up the obscure goat trail up to Westridge.
