Course Description

Solstice Canyon is a park located in Malibu just off the Pacific Coast Highway at the bottom of Corral Canyon Rd. It contains the remnants of the so believed oldest existing stone building in Malibu, the Keller cottage. A second famous building, or better the foundations, is the Robert's House, a very popular hiking destination in the park. Read more about the park and it's history here.

Trail map in pdf to be downloaded here.

We encourage you to bring your family to hike a shorter loop, I promise, they'll have a great time. Also PUPPY friendly !!!

Our run is rather short but has long steep sections, so no worries not to get your workout in. As there is none to zero parking on the street and the gates only open at 8am, we will for once start our run a little later. Considered being mid winter, this can only be a good thing right?!?

PARK in the parkinglot at the far end IN the park, so after entering through the gate you keep driving on the paved road for a half mile until you reach a bigger parking lot and can't go any further.

The run starts with a climb on the Rising Sun trail, dropping down to the Roberts Ranch house, then taking the Sostomo trail up to the Deer Valley loop. Coming back down via the Sostomo trail and making our way back on the easy Solstice Canyon trail (or for those of you who want more of a challenge, track back your steps back via the Roberts house and the Rising Sun trail.)
