Scheduled Runs Subject to Change

On rare occasions, road closures, fires, torrential rain or other natural disasters force us to change the run location. Please check the club web site on Saturday night for the most up-to-date schedule information.

New Runners

Please get to the trail head at least 15 minutes earlier if you are new to the club and/or have not run the trail before.

Course Description

This run starts and ends on Sycamore Canyon Fire road where the camp ground is. We start running up this fire road until we reach the turnoff for the Serrano Canyon Trail (watch out for the lush Poison Oak!), making our way to Serrano Valley at an elevation of 1303 ft. with it's majestic views of beautiful rolling grassland meadows that are a lush green and full of wildflowers in winter and a golden brown in summer. From Serrano Valley we will keep climbing onto Old Boney Trail and then climb up onto the Chamberlain Trail via lush switchbacks up to Chamberlain Rock, aka Butt-Rock. Here you scramble through the rock which locals believe will shed all your sins. Then you turn around and head back for seven miles of downhill glory while enjoying the shade, the panoramic views and all the endorphins flowing through your body.

We are parking along the PCH where the Sand Dune is, west of the park entrance. Come a little earlier so there is some extra time to find each other as it's a bit of a walk. (The pay parking lot is closed until 8am)  Bob will be waiting at the first bathrooms closest to the entrance. -ann
