Please get to the trail head a little early; at least 15 minutes earlier if you are new to the club or have not run the trail before.

About Us

The Trail Runners Club was founded on 1988 by Stan Swartz  (03/10/1934 - 05/30/2017).
We meet every Sunday morning to run one of many courses throughout the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains, sometimes also in the San Gabriel mountains and other areas.
We run only on single track trails and fireroads.
If you live in or are visiting the Los Angeles area and enjoy running in natural settings with great people then you will love the Trail Runners Club.

Santa Cruz Island 2011

On April 9, 2011, we had a ball at the island.  The weather was perfect, the run was great, and the downtime after lunch with some bubbly was very relaxing.  See some of the photos.

The Elite Eight Run In The Mud

I knew the radar loops in the weather forecasts should have been fine for Sunday morning.  On the drive to La Jolla Valley, this had a bit more dampness on the windshield than I hoped, but it's OK.  We had a small bunch of TRC runners (Elite Eight), but it was quickly apparent that this morning was going to be glorious, and the mud-sliding was a kick.  At least we didn't get muddy above the neck.  Thanks for the marking Ann.

You Might Want to Reread The "Magic" Article

Michael and Ann competed in the Bandit Races last Sunday.  Michael ran the 50k in 2nd Place Overall--very amazing.  Ann was the 2nd woman in the 30k Bandit Trail Run.  Maybe we should re-read their "Magic" article in their training regimens.

Post Results:  Rob also showed his strong 30k.  His new training diet (without potato chips) is already resulting a PR.

No Magic To Get Faster

For the last several years, both Michael and Ann have dramatically improved their trail racing.  We other mortals will probably not duplicate Michael's nor Ann's regimen, but maybe we might improve our training techniques somewhat.
