Wilson trail from Sierra Madre

Wilson trail from Sierra Madre

SIERRA MADRE TRAILS :

In cooperation and partnership with the Angeles National Forest, the City would like to announce that Mt. Wilson Trail and Bailey Canyon Trail are open. However, the trail will be closed at the intersection of Mt. Wilson Trail, the Mt. Wilson Toll Road, and Manzanita Ridge. Hikers are not permitted to travel east towards Winter Creek, or north towards the Observatory. Please respect the trails and the National Forest Order while enjoying your hike/run.

We will go as far as we’re allowed to which is most probably about 5.5 miles out, I haven’t been there since the Bobcat fire, so we have to explore together. If the trail is open all the way to Mt. Wilson then we’ll go there, then that will be a little short of 7 miles out.

In any case, it will still be a good climb and a nice long downhill to run back. Please respect all trail closures if present!!!

Members should have an email in their mailbox weekly by the end of Friday night with details for the following Sunday run that will include a link to the course mapped out on Strava and a link to an online sign-up sheet with the individual start times where we ask participating runners to add their name so we know who to expect. We now strongly encourage everyone to start at 7 am as one big group! Yeah!!!

Looking forward to seeing more and more runners having fun together on trail,
-Ann.

The event is finished.
