Spring Saturday special event runs announced.

For the Spring season we are adding two Saturday special runs, both runs are withing a reasonable driving distance and easily done in a day trip. The Sunday run the following day will stay on the schedule so you'll get a nice double run weekend if you'd like. These special Saturday runs are NOT marked and meant to be as a social run. Everyone gets a map and is encouraged to stay with at least one buddy.

New Years letter & info club membership 2015

Hello Trail runners;

a brand new 2015 is upon us, so it's time to write to you with some important news.

Overall, 2014 has been a great and cheerful year with lots of wonderful memories, but as all of you know, it ended with the sudden passing of our beloved friend and fierce club leader Ernie. We were in shock and disbelieve, how were we going to keep the club running without him?
Bob, Avalon, Art and me (Ann) created “team Ernie” and together we worked hard to keep the club runs organized, just like he did for so many years.

It is with great sadness that we must inform you of Ernie Chalekson's passing. Yesterday, November 23, Ernie was running with the club on the Millennium Trail in Calabasas.  It was a beautiful morning in a beautiful setting.  We ran and chatted with Ernie for a long time, and then he ran on ahead of us, gathering speed as the rest of us tired.  About 12 miles into a 14 mile run, he made one final climb, and unfortunately never made it down again.  A small group of us were close behind him; we performed CPR, called 911, and watched in disbelief while a chopper landed in the adjoining field.  Paramedics worked on him for some time before we helped load him onto the helicopter, but tragically Ernie was gone.
