This is a perfect route for rainy and wet conditions, we meet at a big paved parking lot with clean bathrooms.
The gate does not open until 8 am.

I’ve mapped out an 11 mile run that has mainly very well drained trails, partly on paved fire road and gravel road. Still hilly enough and in the middle of Pt.Mugu State Park to give you a well deserved trail run in nature with beautiful views. I pre ran it on Friday with Skye testing it out in the rain.

This is also a route that has lots of opportunities to make it longer or shorter.

Park entrance of Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa is on Lynn Road across of Via Goleta. You drive under a big goal post and take the 0.5 mile road into the park until it dead ends at the lower parking lot, max. speed is 15 mile/hour here! Watch out for pedestrians, bikers and equestrians. This parking lot is newly paved and has bathrooms and drinking water.

We’re taking the path that will take us to the paved blacktop that takes us down into Sycamore Canyon, once we cross the bridge at the bottom we go for another mile until we turn right onto Ranch road. We follow this until we turn onto Wood Canyon road and then onto Sycamore fire road that we take back to the blacktop and back into Satwiwa. By then the visitor center might be open for a short visit.
