Easter Sunday “Stunt to Lookout Ridge”
8 miles
+ 2,010 ft elevation gain
With the option to add on an out & back to Calabasas Peak (after you finish the loop, will add about 3 miles).
This 8 mile run starts out on Calabasas Motorway (dirt road with trailhead and parking on Stunt Rd).
At mile 0.6, there’s an intersection with a bench.
This is where our loop begins.
We get on a steep single track called “Topanga Lookout Ridge” a.k.a. “North Ridge Calabasas”.
At mile 4.5, the single track ends at the old graffitied 360 Lookout.
After a short break at the Lookout, we continue to Stunt Rd and the Backbone Trail (familiar if you’ve done the Hondo run). We stay on the Backbone until we turn for 3 miles of down hill on the Stunt High Trail which takes us back to the cars.
This run includes lots of boulder climbing for a 1/2 mile stretch on Lookout Ridge. It’s fairly easy climbing, but you will be using your hands quite a lot for 1/2 mile.
There are also multiple crossings of Stunt Rd. Please use caution!!!
Where do we meet: 1699 Stunt Road, Calabasas Highlands, CA 91302
If the trailhead lot is full, there’s also 2-3 parking spots across the street, as well as other small dirt lots, before and after the trailhead. There is an outhouse toilet on the parking lot side at the beginning of the trail where we’ll be finishing.
