Ray Miller to Guadalasca loop
The PCH has reopened! So now all our West LA peeps can take this route again for our coastal runs. As this is an active construction zone there might be delays so calculate some extra time.
15.5 mile lollipop loop with +2,500 ft elevation gain
This 16 mile run begins with the climb up Ray Miller trail, then turn left onto Overlook trail and onto the Guadalasca trail which zig-zags down to Wood Canyon and finally to Sycamore Canyon Fire Road where we take a right and then go right again right before the wooden picnic table under the oak tree, this is Wood Canyon Vista Trail, a gently uphill winding single track trail, once we hit the Overlook trail again we go left, after 2 miles we return via the Ray Miller Trail to our cars.
Directions: When coming from the South/East on PCH, the trailhead is approx. 1 mile past Sycamore campground, also called “La Jolla Canyon trail”. The “Thornhill Broom campground” is on the other side of the road. Please pay attention to new parking regulations along the PCH and only park where allowed.
After the run you are welcome to join in for a refreshing ocean dip right across the road. (watch out for traffic!)
