Elevation gain for the 11 mile option is +2,618 ft

Out & Back run from BBT trailhead on Encinal Rd. Run as far as you’d like, then turn around and head back.

BRING A GOOD WORKING HEADLAMP AND A SET OF EXTRA BATTERIES! No lamp, no light, it’s pitch dark out.

Starting at the Encinal parking lot a gentle uphill run all the way to Etz Melloy Motorway, then you transition on a fire road for a bit with steeper climbs until you transition back onto singletrack trail.

Good turn around points are:
– Etz Meloy fire road which is 4 miles out.
– Yerba Buena road crossing which is about 5.5 miles out. (This is usually the most chosen option!)
– Mishe Mockwa parking lot which is 10 miles out.
– Sandstone Peak is 12 miles out.
